Denise Aronzon, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Aronzon is originally from Poughkeepsie, New York. She completed her undergraduate degree at Princeton University and her medical degree at the University of Rochester in New York. Dr. Aronzon completed her pediatric residency at the University of Virgina in Charlottesville, VA. Following residency, Dr. Aronzon worked as a general pediatrician in rural Staunton, VA. She then returned to the University of Rochester, where she worked as a general pediatric fellow and as an instructor in the resident clinic and pediatric emergency room. She joined Timber Lane Pediatrics in 2011. Her special interests include newborn care, school age children, infectious disease and pediatric advocacy. Dr. Aronzon enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters as well as tennis, outdoor activities, cooking and travel.
Alicia Veit, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Alicia Veit joined Timber Lane Pediatrics in 2008 after completing her residency at the University of Vermont based on a strong desire to remain in such a committed pediatric community. Originally from Philadelphia, she graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine (1998) and then continued her education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (2004) after working briefly in public health. She now lives in Hinesburg with her husband James Ulager, a family physician, and their three young children. She is a general pediatrician whose areas of interest range from early childhood development to adolescence. She believes strongly in preventive medicine, health education, and working in partnership with families, schools and community agencies. In her free time, she tries to be outside as much as possible and enjoys hiking, canoeing, and exploring every playground in Chittenden County with her daughters and son.
Michelle Perron, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Michelle Perron grew up in Montpelier, VT. After high school, she attended Colby College in Waterville, Maine and graduated with a degree in biology. She then went on to medical school at the University of Vermont. Upon graduation, she moved to Worcester, MA for a residency in pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts and stayed on to work for a year after completing her program. She has been practicing with Timber Lane Pediatrics since 2000. Dr. Perron enjoys cooking and baking, spending time outdoors, and enjoying the company of her husband, family and pets.
Kari McKinley, C.P.N.P.
Kari McKinley grew up in the Adirondacks in upstate New York. From there she traveled north to Montreal, Canada where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from McGill University, with a focus in laboratory research in developmental genetics. Upon completion of her program, Kari moved back to the US to Burlington, VT where she spent a few years working as a medical assistant at Timber Lane Pediatrics. It was here she learned that while she loved fundamental science, it was working with children and their families that gave her the most fulfillment. Kari went on to complete an accelerated RN to Master of Science in Nursing program at Yale University in New Haven, CT. She returned to Vermont in 2013 to work as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, first in the Connecticut River Valley and then in 2015, when she rejoined Timber Lane Pediatrics. When not at work she can be found doing any number of activities including telemark skiing, knitting, road biking, dancing, traveling, taking outdoor adventures with her fiancé and dog, and generally enjoying time with family and friends.
Kristen Bird, R.N., F.N.P, I.B.C.L.C.
Kristen moved to Vermont from Pennsylvania when she was in high school. Kristen attended college in Greenville, SC and received her nursing degree there in 2007. Kristen worked as an RN for nearly 6 years on the Mother/Baby unit at Fletcher Allen. In 2011, she completed her degree as a family nurse practitioner at Indiana State University. She joined Timber Lane Pediatrics in 2012. Kristen is a board-certified lactation consultant and enjoys using her skills to help breastfeeding moms both at Timber Lane and in the community. She and her husband David volunteer at their church and enjoy working with the youth group there. Their daughter Kiara was born and welcomed into their family in September 2012 after spending an adventurous month in Alaska as they awaited to finalize her adoption. Kristen loves all of pediatrics but is especially interested in breastfeeding, newborn care, and adolescent health. She loves to spend her free time with her husband, daughter and Shih Tzu, Teddy, and enjoys hiking, kayaking and spending time with friends.
