History of Timber Lane Pediatrics

Our history dates back to 1962, when Dr. J. Ward “Jim” Stackpole opened his pediatric practice in Burlington. He was soon joined by Dr. John  “Jack” Murray and Dr. Richard “Dick” Narkewicz (who served as AAP President from 1987-1988) to form Pediatric Associates. They practiced for many years at 49 North Prospect Street. Many families who were patients there still bring children and grandchildren to our practice.

In 1973, Pediatric Associates combined with a number of other local medical practices to build Timber Lane Medical Center and moved the practice to our current office at 51 Timber Lane. In 1987, Dr. Sara Quayle joined the practice and in 1992, Dr. Marc Starer came aboard. That same year, TLP joined Community Health Plan, an HMO with offices throughout Vermont and northern New York. Dr. Barbara Kennedy joined the practice in 1994. In 2000, many of the former CHP practices joined together to form Primary Care Health Partners, an umbrella organization for nine independent primary care offices in Vermont and northern New York. Also in 2000, Dr. Michelle Perron joined TLP and expanded our office into Burlington's New North End. Dr. Monica Fiorenza joined us in 2003. Rebecca Nagle, PNP started with us in 2007 and Dr. Alicia Veit in 2008. Kate Margulius, PA began working with TLP in 2009. In 2011, Dr. Elizabeth Hunt and Dr. Denise Aronzon joined our group. That same year, we became a certified medical home. 2012 brought us Kristin Bird, FNP and Madeline Mann, FNP. Dr. Thom Bolduc joined us in 2013.  Kari McKinley, PNP, joined us in the fall of 2015.  In the winter of 2016, we opened our new Milton office with Dr. Kristen Connolly, and in the fall of 2016 we were joined by Dr. Leah Costello.  Dr. Sara Quayle retired from practice in 2016 but remains active in the PCHP organization.  Leah Macaulay, PNP, and Courtney Walker, FNP, came aboard in fall 2018.  Our wonderful manager, Treva Southworth, joined us in the spring of 2019.  In the summer of 2021, Dr. Barbara Kennedy retired and we were joined by Dr. Patrick Duff.

Every one of us enjoys serving our patients and remains committed to excellence in care throughout the continuum of infancy, childhood and adolescence. We as a practice strive to carry on the tradition of child health advocacy, and we continue to take an active role in shaping the future of healthcare and in the education of the next generation of providers.
